Letter from the Owner

Welcome Everyone!

Ever since I was a little kid, I enjoyed going around looking at Christmas Lights and sometimes even, getting out of the car and walking through them. Whether it be the plastic Santa’s or the old school big bulb lights.

I feel as though, over the past decade or so, that enjoyment has become playing video games, looking at Christmas lights on YouTube, and spending hours a night on social media, instead of going somewhere and enjoying the Christmas spirit like I used to as a child in the 90’s.

Over the last 10-15 years I enjoyed decorating and putting up lights and having a few people drive by a night. However, last year (2016) I stepped it up a notch and created Lights in Greenawalds. Spending the necessary money to upgrade everything including; LED lights, characters, sculptures, light shows, Christmas trees, music and much more.

But there was something missing. I wanted the kids, parents, grandparents, and everyone in between to be able to walk through and enjoy the lights like I did as a kid. That is when I thought of the arch-ways to bring everyone a little closer to all the lights and actually be a part of the experience.

Because of the thousands of people who came out last year to see Lights in Greenawalds, I am yet again, stepping it up a notch….a BIG notch.

This year will include a refreshment shed; with Hot Chocolate, Popcorn, Hotdogs, Water, Candy, and merchandise.

There will also be a kick-off show. The show will feature Live music, special guests, a lighting ceremony, an appearance by the Grinch, and the one and only Santa. That will be held Saturday November 18th, 2017, rain-date of Sunday November 19th, 2017. More info on that later in the summer.

I can’t say too much more, because I don’t want to spoil it for everyone. All I can say is; I am excited for what this upcoming season holds, and appreciate all the support I get, in any way, shape, or form.

I accept any donations, but my goal (which will stay this way, as long as I am the Owner) is for Lights in Greenawalds to remain totally free to the public, even the food and refreshments. Unlike some of the other attractions around that charge you an insane amount to either drive through or walk through lights, I will to this day, never understand charging anyone to enjoy the Spirit and Joy of Christmas.

Consider Lights in Greenawalds, Your Escape into Christmas!

See you all soon, and again, THANK YOU for making Lights in Greenawalds a REAL success in only its first year.

Sincerely,

Mike Yellak

Owner/Operator of Lights in Greenawalds
